They are equipped with solar panels that earliest store energy derived from the Sun using the photovoltaic impact, and then use this stored energy to light up the bulbs during the lamp posts.

Importance Of Renewable Energy For the Future

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Often, the only thing people think they know about renewable energy is that it is “too expensive” or “unrealistic”. Well, did you know what people said about the very first automobiles? They said pretty much the same thing about those. Cars were not believed to be able to compete with horse power, since the very first cars were both slow, expensive, and difficult to use and maintain.

So how did cars become so immensely successful? Well, some entrepreneurs – notably Henry Ford – realized the potential of the concept, and solved some of the technical problems. Then, a mass market suddenly opened.

If we look at such things as photovoltaic cells, it is pretty much the same thing: they are now moving from the stage of being expensive novelties to reaching a mass market. Cheap solar panels are now a reality, due to intensive research and development.

For instance, one company now manufactures solar panels by spray-painting a semiconducting layer on to a roll of plastic film. These solar cells will be so cheap that they can directly compete with coal-generated electricity.

This also means that solar panels for home use can now be a very cost-effective investment for the average home owner. Visit www.sunwindnow.com to learn more about renewable energy for the future.

Indeed, the only future we have is a society based on renewable energy. The global warming has to be dealt with, or we will be faced with devastating global effects. Therefore, we need to phase out the use of fossil fuels and replace those with renewable energy sources.

One crazy morning

One crazy afternoon I decided to help in the fight for global warming. I decided to become a LEED certified architect.

I dashed out of bed and found a place to register for the tests and pick up my study materials. After feeding the dogs and eating a quick breakfast, I jumped into the car and to my suprise found out the car was broken. I only had a few hours before the registration office closed and I need to fix the car quickly.

I searched for phoenix auto repair shops in the phone book but soon realized it was much quicker and easier to just jumb online and Google it. I found a place that looked reliable and well priced so I called them and they arranged the towing and offered a shuttle to come pick my up.It worked out great because I figured I could pick up my registration and study materials and go to a coffee shop with my laptop and begin my figh against the globall warming crisis.

However, when the shuttle dropped me off I realized I left my laptop bag at home. Well, maybe it was better because this way I coud just study and not have to worry about searching the internet and getting distracted. the car took most of the day to get fixed because I had them install a converter that made my engine get 50 mile per gallon.

So what an afternoon! Not only did I start the process to get LEED certified, I also made my car “greener”. To reward myself I went home and turned the AC on full blast!
